The plan to build 40 houses on Barrow Hill will be decided at the TVBC Northern Area Planning Meeting on Thursday 3rd April at 5.30pm. The meeting will take place in the Upper Guildhall, High Street, Andover and is open to members of the public. The agenda for the meeting can be found here https://democracy.testvalley.gov.uk/ieListDocuments.aspx?CId=160&MId=3963.

The agenda allows for limited public participation. The Parish Council has a 3 minute slot in which Councillor Fiona Cross will speak to address the council's objections to the proposal. A group of villagers have been working with a planning consultant and they have also registered to speak in the meeting. As there is an equally limited 3 minute slot for public participation, it would make sense for this to be used by the group to put over a structured response to the proposal. Ideally, this group will use the full 3 minutes for public participation so please consider this if you choose to register to speak.

This is the most significant development in the history of the village unfortunately coming at a time when the government has changed the planning landscape in favour of much greater development. However, a large turnout from the village in support of the speakers will give the clearest possible indication of the strength of the opposition to the Barrow Hill development.
