Footpaths and Allotments

Footpaths and Bridleways

We are fortunate to be surrounded by beautiful countryside which can be easily accessed on walks from the village.  You can find maps of the local Footpaths and Bridleways in the PDFs listed below.  We hope you will enjoy these local walks but please consider that we all have a responsibility to protect our countryside and open spaces for current and future generations.  So please:

  • take your litter home - leave no trace of your visit
  • do not light fires
  • always keep dogs under control and in sight
  • bag dog poo and bin it in the bins provided
  • care for nature - do not cause damage or disturbance

Dog Walking

We all love to see Dogs enjoying themselves in the countryside but we would like to remind all dog walkers that the Countryside Code requires that dogs are kept under control at all times, especially where there are livestock, wildlife and ground-nesting birds. A footpath is normally 1-2 metres wide and that is the only land which people or dogs are legally entitled to be on! Anywhere else is by permission of the landowner.  Please keep your dogs on a lead where livestock are grazing.

Allotments

We have a number of allotments in the village.  They are generally allocated however from time to time they do become available.  The first priority is to residents in the village however they are occasionally available to people living nearby.  If you are interested in an allotment please contact the Parish Clerk on [email protected].
